Questions are generated from the element dataset in five free modes: symbol to name, atomic number, category, phase at room temperature, and the number of electrons in the outer shell. Every question is multiple choice, and an explanation appears with the answer.
Each element you answer correctly at least once counts as mastered, and the mastered total out of 118 is shown as you play. Your record and your streak are kept in this browser's local storage, so no account is needed and clearing site data clears them.
Learn the elements in blocks rather than straight down the list: the first twenty, then the groups you meet most often, the halogens and noble gases, then the common transition metals. Recall practice beats rereading, which is what the quiz is for.
Search or filter by category, block or phase and Premium draws the round from that selection; the free round is a fixed daily set of elements shared by everyone that day. Either way, when a selection leaves too few distinct answers to fill a question, the remaining options are drawn from the whole table so every question still offers a real choice.
